Chad Kirkpatrick is the Arizona State Chief Information Officer and Director of the Government Information Technology Agency. As the State CIO, Mr. Kirkpatrick’s office is responsible for statewide IT strategic planning, approving technology projects, and monitoring project implementations. His leadership team develops statewide information security and privacy guidelines, provides direction to the creation of the health information exchange, and leads the state’s rural broadband development and other strategic projects.

Prior to becoming the State CIO, Mr. Kirkpatrick was Vice President of Technology for the Wells Fargo Home Equity Group. In that role, Mr. Kirkpatrick created the MIS Roadmap to assess the technology environment, identify goals and develop an action plan to align technology and business needs. He also led application development and data warehousing initiatives, including fully automating the business process for regulatory compliance testing, and developing an innovative data analysis program to proactively identify potential regulatory issues, tracking corrective action and delivering critical information to the compliance team. Director Kirkpatrick received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University in Washington, DC and his Master of Arts in Applied Economics from The American University.
